Abstract
Since '90, there has been a gradual configuration of the Learning Communities as an alternative to the vision of education which transfer the responsibility, basically to the formal education and also to those institutions of educational systems - schools, secondary schools, universities, etc.-.
The theoretical elaboration and practice experience made during the course of last years regarding Learning Communities, offer significant elements to approach this important educational change. The interest and potential utility of theory and practice of Learning Communities as a base for thinking and making concrete how this change is possible and what is this change consisting on.
The interest and potential utility of theory and practice of Learning Communities as a base for thinking and making concrete how this change is possible and what is this change consisting on, is found in the aptitude to transform pedagogical practices and the habitual organization of formal educational institutions, as far as in the capacity of moving resources from another institutions and putting them available to the education and instruction of people.
