The project aims at gathering information about science and technology-related activities in which children and adolescents from different social and cultural backgrounds participate outside of school context. More specifically, it aims to collect information about the learning experiences associated with these activities, the relation between these activities and experiences, and their potential influence on children’s and adolescents’ interest in and attitudes towards science.

Two main assumptions are supporting this purpose. The first is that students’ perception of and interest in science and technology is related to the science and technology-related activities in which they participate in their everyday life. The second, that having information about these subjects is relevant and useful for the promotion and improvement of teaching and learning science and technology within the school context.
